Walk, Bake, Photograph and a lockdown

Walk (and this lockdown)

Walking is good for you. That is what we are told and it’s true, you do improve your health. 5,000 steps or 5km and you can keep fit. It also helps your mind and mental attitude. You step away from the TV or computer and let your mind wander. However, in these times you have to stay safe. So far, we can do one exercise a day with caution and care. You don’t need to drive to walk, you can stay 2 meters away from others. When all this is lifted, will we be as before? Will people keep a little distance from each other? We will be able to walk with our friends, let dogs run with each and go back to really enjoy open spaces. For me, I will treasure those places I miss right now and the friends that I wish to be with.

Bake (and this lockdown)

So another day in lockdown and part of a weeks leave. It seems odd and yet becoming normal. The best way I can understand this is to consider it as Christmas. Let’s face it, Christmas you basically say bye to people you spend Monday to Friday with and hello to odd friends and relatives on certain days. Therefore for me, in order not to go daft, I have approached this like Christmas, including working from home. To date, its working. No snow mind you but that’s a small price. I have managed to continue to walk each day and follow the guidelines as set by the Government. I have also baked a couple of times in order to photograph the results. Here is one;

Yum

And they taste great.

Photography (and this lockdown)

I do enjoy photography it is clear to see on my social media platforms. Baking and macro work has taken centre stage for a time during this lockdown. It helps to be honest because I can concentrate and improve things like composition and planning. By baking, it means I have something to eat and photograph, double the fun. Again, it helps keep the mental part going as well. For me, it is not about trying to over reach during this time, it is about doing what is needed to keep going. If that is chilling some days, then chill. Don’t fret, don’t worry just let yourself flow like the river of life.
